Marguerite Kaufer

Bio

Marguerite Kaufer is an alumni from Montclair State University. Her work explores the relationship between art and emotional experience. Her work focuses on acrylic painting and collage making. As abstractions, they are open to interpretation by the viewer; however the work is a physical representation of the emotion Kaufer was feeling at the time she created the piece. Her main influences are abstract action painters and collage artists. Utilizing their methods and incorporating them into her practice allows Kaufer to create a body of work that is a resemblance to other artists yet also a combination of styles and ideas.
